About this role

Brainkind is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with brain injuries across the UK, using expert neurorehabilitation to help individuals regain lost skills. As a Bank Staff Nurse at our Glasgow Eastfields service, you will lead, develop, and supervise a team of Rehabilitation Support Workers to enable service users with brain injury to perform daily living functions and develop personal skills.

In this role, you will support the assessment, planning, and implementation of individually tailored therapeutic programmes of care and rehabilitation. You will act as a key worker and advocate for designated service users, liaising closely with other professionals and contributing to report writing, assessments, and recording of information.

Requirements

  • An RMN/RNLD nursing qualification.
  • Proven experience of primary nurse teams; their development and function.
  • Knowledge or understanding of working within the Independent Healthcare sector.
  • Experience of writing reports and detailed assessments.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, both written and oral, using a variety of media.
  • Demonstrate relevant understanding of the statutory requirements applicable to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and supervise a team of Rehabilitation Support Workers to support, guide, and enable service users with brain injury in daily living functions and personal skill development.
  • Contribute to the holistic assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of individually tailored therapeutic programmes of care as part of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Act as key worker and advocate for designated service users, liaising closely with other professionals including report writing, assessments, and recording of information.
  • Provide individualised, evidence-based holistic care and approach to service users and their carers.
  • Exercise sound clinical leadership by example and instruction, and competently carry out clinical procedures using appropriate equipment within scope of practice.
  • Ensure the custody and administration of drugs is in accordance with statutory obligations and service policies.
  • Assist in the acceptance and administration of service users detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) and support those under a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard.
  • Maintain accurate records on all service users in line with NMC Record Keeping guidance and company policy.
