About this role
This dynamic and rewarding role offers casual shifts contributing to workplace health and wellbeing across Victoria. Nurses work at various locations across metro and regional areas from April to October 2025 with potential for ongoing work.
Day-to-day duties include administering flu vaccinations while ensuring strict cold chain management. Nurses also conduct occupational medical assessments such as biometric tests, urinalysis, vision tests, audiometry, and spirometry for emergency response roles, performed offsite at client workplaces across Melbourne Metro, CBD, and regional locations.
Nurses represent CHM professionally across diverse corporate settings and clientele. The role offers extensive travel opportunities, including regional trips of up to five days with accommodation and travel reimbursement provided, and most weeks offer three to four days of work with additional paid travel and accommodation top.
This casual position runs from April to October 2025 with the option for ongoing work with CHM. Nurses thrive by learning new skills and actively completing CPD hours, making this a dynamic opportunity for experienced occupational health nurses.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with experience in Allied Health, General Practice, or General medicine.
- Completion of an accredited Spirometry course or willingness to undertake one at your own cost.
- Experience with audiometric testing desired or willingness to participate in in-house training.
- Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA.
- Current unrestricted Driver’s License and own reliable vehicle.
- Current first aid, CPR, BLS or ALS certification.
- Minimum 2 years post-graduate clinical experience.
- Current evidence of Nurse Immuniser certificate and fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
Responsibilities
- Travel to sites across Victoria and stay overnight regionally to deliver medical assessments and flu vaccines.
- Understand health assessment principles, adhere to policies and scope of practice, and confidently operate and document results in provided software platform.
- Represent CHM within a variety of settings in a professional manner.
- Conduct medical health assessments in corporate workplaces or CHM consulting suites.
- Administer flu vaccinations ensuring adherence to cold chain management protocols.
- Perform occupational medical assessments including biometric tests, urinalysis, vision tests, audiometry, and spirometry.
- Deescalate tense or stressful situations and make patients feel at ease.
