About this role
Compass Palliative Care, a leading California-based palliative care provider, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a 4-month inpatient coverage assignment beginning in late July 2026. This role is ideal for clinicians seeking a meaningful, short-term inpatient opportunity with flexibility and strong clinical support.
The practitioner will be assigned a specific patient load and will round Monday through Friday, 3-4 hours daily, with flexible hours. Responsibilities include assessing patients, providing palliative care, defining and documenting diagnoses, and ensuring complete patient and family satisfaction.
Our palliative program is run by experienced and board-certified physicians who take pride in providing training and in-service education to their staff. They believe in the advancement of their staff as well as creating the best possible outcomes for the patients they serve.
This part-time temporary position offers the option for continued per diem work after the assignment ends. It is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team in the hospital setting in the Culver City area.
Requirements
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in California
- Experience in palliative care or hospice setting preferred
- Ability to manage a specific patient load independently
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Commitment to patient and family-centered care
- Willingness to participate in training and in-service education
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and provide palliative care to best treat the patient
- Define and document patient diagnoses
- Assure all patients are completely satisfied
- Provide patient and family education and management
- Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart, including follow-up notes
- Actively participate in departmental activities to improve training methods and achieve company goals
