Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes HCMC, a nationally recognized Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and acute care hospital. We are currently seeking a Staff Nurse to join our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU).

This position is a 0.75 FTE (5 shifts per pay period), 12-hour shifts, Nights, Every Third Weekend. Under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Patient and Family Centered Care model.

You will partner with patients, their families, and significant others to protect, promote, and optimize health while preventing illness and injury. Your role includes alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response and documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care.

Requirements

  • 1 year of current adult ICU professional nursing (RN) experience required
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Minnesota
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every third weekend

Responsibilities

  • Protect, promote, and optimize health for patients in the SICU
  • Prevent illness and injury through proactive nursing interventions
  • Alleviate suffering through the treatment of the human response
  • Partner with the patient, their family, and significant others in care planning
  • Document interventions and an individualized plan of care
  • Coordinate nursing care under general supervision within the Patient and Family Centered Care model
  • Provide direct patient care during 12-hour night shifts, including every third weekend
