Requirements

  • Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required for newly licensed nurses.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring and telemetry.
  • Knowledge of growth and development of adult and geriatric patients.
  • Ability to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care for complex cardiac conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate a plan of care for assigned patients.
  • Set priorities when organizing care for patients with varying acuity.
  • Document patient care clearly, completely, and concisely in compliance with nursing documentation standards.
  • Develop a comprehensive plan of care based on initial patient and family assessment.
  • Develop a comprehensive educational plan for patients and families.
  • Develop a comprehensive discharge plan utilizing appropriate resources and community referrals.
  • Administer medications safely according to established policies and procedures.
  • Interact professionally with patients, families, and colleagues.
