About this role

At Children's Mercy, we believe in making a difference in the lives of all children and shining a light of hope to the patients and families we serve. Our employees are the reason we have been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a top pediatric hospital for eleven consecutive years.

Critical care registered nurses provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require intensive care. In the Emergency Department, you will utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to deliver safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age-appropriate nursing care for critically ill patients.

You will develop and implement a plan of care that promotes optimal patient outcomes, while meeting the educational and informational needs of patients and families. You will maintain an environment that is safe, comfortable, efficient, and family centered, coordinating care with nonprofessional personnel as necessary.

Children's Mercy is located in the heart of Kansas City, a metro abounding in cultural experiences, vibrant communities, and thriving businesses. We engage in meaningful programs and partnerships throughout the region to improve the lives of children beyond our hospital walls, and we strive to create a workplace that reflects our core values of kindness, curiosity, inclusion, team, and integrity.
