As a Pediatric Wound Care Nurse, you will provide direct patient care to patients with wounds and ostomies using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

In this role, you will plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. You will monitor, record, and communicate patient condition, effectively delegate patient care to ancillary personnel, and may precept student nurses and new hires.

You will collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Additionally, you will evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Required).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Florida.
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted).
  • One (1) year of nursing work experience required.
  • WOCN (Wound/Ostomy Care Nurse) certification preferred.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
