Utilizes nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide comprehensive, age-appropriate nursing care for low acuity assigned patients. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree (ADN) required
  • Bachelor's Degree (BSN) preferred for nurses hired after September 1, 2013
  • Licensed RN - MO or Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
  • Licensed RN - Kansas or Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications upon hire
  • Specialty Certification relevant to unit’s patient population preferred
  • No experience necessary; on-the-job training provided

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive, age-appropriate plan of care for low acuity patients and families
  • Meet the educational and informational needs of low acuity patients and families utilizing appropriate principles of teaching/learning
  • Promote safe, efficient, family-centered care to low acuity patients
  • Delegate nursing care based on knowledge of staff qualifications/competency and patient care requirements
  • Provide comprehensive, age-appropriate nursing care for low acuity assigned patients
  • Assist with the shift supervision of nonprofessional personnel as necessary
