About this role
Lead nursing excellence in a community health center by overseeing daily clinical operations and managing nursing staff. This role collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, high-quality care.
Day-to-day responsibilities include managing staff schedules and clinical assignments to ensure adequate coverage. The supervisor directs resource allocation to maintain patient safety and clinic efficiency while also delivering direct patient care when needed.
The supervisor supervises, mentors, and evaluates nursing and clinical support staff, monitoring protocols and policies for continuous quality improvement. They also participate in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAI) process and ensure compliance with The Joint Commission standards and HIPAA regulations.

Requirements
- Current unrestricted Ohio RN license and BLS Certification.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership of a nursing team and processes, preferably for a variety of patient populations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the unique needs of patients experiencing severe and persistent mental illness.
- At least 2 years' experience working in, training, and troubleshooting basic concerns and needs in EPIC.
- Ability to lead a team of nurses during psychiatric and physical health emergencies.
- Proven skills in de-escalation situations and fostering a supportive culture for employee wellbeing.
- Clear understanding of accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission), state/federal guidelines, conducting surveys, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize.
Responsibilities
- Assist and collaborate with the Nurse Manager and/or Vice President in all human resource functions for nursing, including hiring, terminations, and disciplinary action.
- Manage staff schedules and clinical assignments to ensure adequate coverage and direct allocation of resources for patient safety and clinic efficiency.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of nursing and clinical support staff.
- Monitor and maintain nursing protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Participate in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAI) process.
- Assist in managing medical supplies and maintaining accurate clinical documentation and HIPAA compliance.
- Deliver care to patients when needed, including triage, care coordination, and assessments in accordance with Ohio’s Nurse Practice Act.
- Respond to staff call-offs or urgent staffing alerts and proactively identify replacement personnel for unscheduled absences.
