About this role

We’re looking for someone warm, creative, and enthusiastic to join our team at Meadowfield Residential Care Home in Fulwood. This part-time role is at the heart of residents’ wellbeing, reducing loneliness, sparking joy, and building confidence through meaningful daily activities.

You’ll plan, organise, and deliver a varied programme of activities, adapting them so everyone feels included. Your day-to-day will involve encouraging resident participation, supporting hobbies and social connections, and helping to organise special events, celebrations, and themed days.

Our committed team provides care to more than 1,000 adults across Lancashire, running 16 Care Homes and 13 Day Centres. We support older people, adults living with dementia, and their families with kindness, dignity, care, and compassion.

We offer shifts to suit you, a comprehensive induction programme, and opportunities to progress. We will pay for training and support you to work competently against the standards of The Care Certificate.

Requirements

  • Confidence engaging with older people, including those living with dementia
  • Ability to adapt activities so everyone feels included
  • Strong organisational skills and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Genuine passion for making each day meaningful for residents
  • Creativity and imagination to bring energy into every interaction
  • Willingness to complete The Care Certificate training

Responsibilities

  • Planning, organising, and delivering a varied programme of activities
  • Encouraging resident participation and adapting activities to individual needs
  • Supporting residents to maintain hobbies, interests, and social connections
  • Creating a positive, inclusive atmosphere within the home
  • Working closely with colleagues, families, and volunteers
  • Helping to organise special events, celebrations, and themed days
  • Recording participation and gathering feedback to continually improve the activity programme
