About this role
Harmony United Psychiatric Care is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our network of outpatient mental health clinics. This independent contractor role provides comprehensive psychiatric care via in-person and telehealth visits across Florida.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions, and providing medication management and brief psychotherapeutic interventions. You will also administer Long-Acting Injectable medications when needed, though this is an infrequent service in most clinics.
You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and licensed therapists, supported by full administrative staff and the latest EMR technology. Our clinics care for adults, adolescents, and children aged five and above, treating each patient with compassion and respect.
As an independent contractor, you have the flexibility to choose your working hours with offices open Monday through Thursday for in-person and telehealth appointments, and availability required Friday through Sunday via telemedicine. This role offers strong focus on work/life balance and opportunities for continuing education.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, or one year as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner plus three years as a Nurse Practitioner in any specialty
- Board-certified to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- Active license to practice in the State of Florida
- Work experience in an outpatient setting preferred
- Active DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Ability to work independently and manage own schedule as an independent contractor
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions for patients with a variety of mental health conditions
- Provide medication management and brief psychotherapeutic interventions
- Administer injections for Long-Acting Injectables (LAIs) when necessary
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families about mental health conditions and therapeutic strategies
- Provide documentation of services rendered in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatry through continuing education and professional development
