About this role
The College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner responsible for managing the mental health care provided by the FAU/NCHA/CHC. Services are delivered at clinic sites and mobile partner locations across Palm Beach County. The practitioner actively coordinates patient evaluation and treatment as a direct care provider.
The psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner provides care to patients, families, and groups across the lifespan in both clinic and mobile health unit settings. This includes participating in the client plan of care and attending interdisciplinary team meetings. Findings are discussed with attending physicians and inter-professional providers as needed.
The role serves as a preceptor for psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner students enrolled at the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing. Administrative tasks related to the position are handled while traveling to different site locations and group homes. Other job-related duties are performed as assigned.

Requirements
- Current licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- Experience providing mental health care across the lifespan in outpatient or mobile settings
- Ability to serve as preceptor for PMHNP students
- Participation in interdisciplinary care planning and team meetings
- Willingness to travel to multiple clinic sites and group homes
Responsibilities
- Serves as a preceptor for students in the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner concentration while providing mental health care to patients, families and groups across the lifespan in the clinic and mobile health unit settings.
- Participates in the client’s plan of care, interdisciplinary team meetings, and mobile health unit committee meetings when necessary.
- Discusses findings as needed with attending physician, consulting staff, and inter-professional medical service providers.
- Handles administrative tasks related to role.
- Travels to different site locations and group homes.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
