As a Staff Nurse, you will lead the team in continuous assessment, planning, and evaluation of residents’ needs and wishes. Your day involves providing excellent nursing care, overseeing all aspects of medicine management in line with NMC standards, and creating and carrying out treatment plans.

You will offer a safe, caring, and stable environment while ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and best practice guidelines. Working in partnership with the Service Manager, you will support key targets by promoting high standards of nursing care and supervising shifts smoothly.

This role includes mentoring and guiding other team members to foster a supportive environment. With access to bespoke online and face-to-face training provided by Holmes Care Group, you will have ongoing development opportunities to grow your career within the UK’s leading care home group.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Relevant nursing qualification (e.g., Diploma or Degree in Nursing)
  • Compassionate and caring attitude with a resident-centered approach
  • Adequate knowledge, experience, and clear understanding of the nursing role and its professional boundaries
  • Experience in a care home or similar long-term care setting
  • Knowledge of medicine management and NMC standards for safe administration
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills to support and guide team members

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent nursing care and support to residents
  • Oversee all aspects of medicine management and ensure safe administration of medication in accordance with NMC Standards
  • Create and carry out treatment plans for residents
  • Offer a safe, caring, and stable environment to the people we support
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and best practice guidelines
  • Support the Service Manager with key targets by promoting and practicing high standards of nursing care and supervising staff and shifts smoothly
  • Support, guide, teach, and mentor other members of your team
  • Work individually and in partnership with the Manager to ensure the smooth running of the home
