About this role

Priory Hospital Woodbourne is seeking a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join its team across all wards. This full-time role of 37.5 hours per week offers a salary between £36,176 and £38,596, dependent on experience, in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, just a short distance from Birmingham City Centre.

You will be responsible for delivering and coordinating high-quality, patient-centred nursing care within an agreed framework. Duties include assessing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating care in partnership with patients and their families or carers, acting as the named nurse, and responding to changes in patients’ needs.

You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, prioritising and delegating workload, and acting as nurse in charge when required. The role also involves maintaining professional development, supporting newly qualified staff as a preceptor, and participating in clinical supervision and reflective practice.

Requirements

  • Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC Registration
  • 6–12 months post-registration experience and completed preceptorship programme
  • Knowledge of NMC guidelines, requests, and professional practices
  • Evidence of post-registration continuing professional development
  • Dual qualification desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and coordinate high-quality, patient-centred nursing care within an agreed framework
  • Assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate care in partnership with patients and their families or carers
  • Act as the named nurse and respond to changes in patients’ needs
  • Review care plans and manage concerns and complaints
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, prioritising and delegating workload
  • Act as nurse in charge when required
  • Promote safeguarding and compliance with the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and medicines management policies
  • Support newly qualified staff as a preceptor and participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice
