As a Patient Care Nurse Assistant, you will provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Duties include vital signs, weight, assisting with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers and transport, and point of care testing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of a state-approved nurse aide training program or current enrollment in a nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift or transfer patients.
  • Strong observation and communication skills to report changes in patient condition.
  • Willingness to work varying days and hours, including weekends and holidays as a PRN caregiver.

Responsibilities

  • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, including vital signs, weight, and pulse oximetry.
  • Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
  • Perform patient transfers and transport within the facility.
  • Conduct point of care testing and apply external monitoring devices.
  • Remove urinary Foley catheters and perform dressing changes.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the supervising RN.
