About this role

This role is an opportunity for an innovative experienced community Mental Health Nurse to join the Mental Health Education team at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. The Community based CNE will be responsible for providing clinical education and mentorship to a multi-disciplinary workforce with a focus in the adult mental health community services.

The CNE will design and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and workshops for the mental health workforce. They will shape and assess training programs while bridging the gap between theory and practice in clinical settings for undergraduates, graduates, and postgraduates.

Requirements

  • Experienced and innovative Mental Health Nurse
  • Classification RPN 4 NP75-NP77
  • Focus on strengths and recovery oriented practice
  • Ability to promote best practice in adult mental health community services

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and workshops for the mental health workforce
  • Shape and assess training programs for the workforce contributing to their growth and development
  • Provide insights to internal and external committees to enhance nursing education and practice
  • Guide undergraduates, graduates, and postgraduates through practical experiences in clinical settings
  • Lead structured educational programs for undergraduates in psychiatric nursing placements
  • Develop and evaluate programs and initiatives that support the existing and expanding workforce
  • Collaborate with the Education Team Leader and Senior Psychiatric Nurse to support staff across the service
