About this role
To provide nursing care that is patient and family centered, the Registered Nurse maintains the integrity of professional nursing standards based on the ANA Code of Ethics and Indiana Nurse Practice Act. This role fosters relationship based care while exemplifying best practice and customer service in the Special Care Nursery and Post-Partum areas.
The nurse uses resources and time effectively, managing several tasks at once while attending to short, medium, and long-term priorities. Patient care assignments are made according to nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs, with evidence-based practice applied to enhance care delivery.
Working within a collaborative healthcare team, the nurse balances needs of patients, providers, and community members while displaying the Hendricks Way Values. A therapeutic environment is maintained through noise reduction, appropriate device use, and support for healthcare students in the Childbirth Center.
Emphasis is placed on leadership and professional growth through certification, advanced degrees, and participation in shared leadership councils. The nurse seeks opportunities to apply new functional skills and contribute to unit improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in Indiana
- Knowledge of ANA Code of Ethics and Indiana Nurse Practice Act
- Proficiency in the nursing process and regulatory agency standards
- Ability to enhance workplace practices through evidence-based care
- Strong focus on patient safety and exemplary patient experience
