About this role

Works under the supervision of the Director in the Outpatient Infusion department. The Registered Nurse II assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individualized care according to departmental policies and the Nurse Practice Act. Care is individualized based on age-appropriate and developmental needs.

Completes nursing assessments and documents findings into the patient record. Develops plans of care based on assessment and collaborates with physicians and health team members. Provides, delegates, and coordinates care while initiating discharge planning and patient/family teaching.

Utilizes positive communication skills to support conflict resolution and teamwork. Facilitates physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual care while complying with safety policies. May be required to work on other nursing units according to staffing and patient distribution.

Maintains professional standards through in-services, committees, and performance improvement activities. Acts as preceptor and charge nurse when assigned and actively participates in achieving departmental goals. Demonstrates flexibility regarding changes in Hospital or unit activities.

Requirements

  • Associates of Science in nursing (ASN) required, BSN preferred.
  • Current California RN license.
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards.
  • Twelve (12) or more months of service as a registered nurse in an acute care setting.
  • Candidates selected for hire will be required to successfully complete a Pharmacology and EKG Test.

Responsibilities

  • Completes nursing assessment of patient and documents appropriately into patient record.
  • Develops a plan of care based upon the assessment of patient, age appropriate and developmental needs.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other health team members in developing a plan of care.
  • Provides, delegates, and coordinates the plan of care.
  • Initiates, manages, and participates in discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
  • Evaluates and updates patient’s response to plan of care.
  • Facilitates physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual care of the patient.
  • Acts as preceptor and charge nurse as assigned.

  • Hourly Night Shift Differential: $6.00
