Priory Stockton Hall is recruiting a bank staff nurse RMN/RNLD to join the team in its 112 bedded medium secure hospital. Located in a quiet village near York, it serves local and national collaboratives with a record of successful patient pathways. The role supports compassionate care in a forensic setting.

As a staff nurse, you will assist qualified staff with assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans. You will undertake routine tasks and activities to facilitate patient wellbeing, dignity, and treatment. This includes providing high standards of care using personalised approaches and proven therapies.

You will join a compassionate multi-disciplinary team committed to patient recovery. The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, requiring flexible shift patterns including nights and weekends. Therapeutic relationships and ethical practice are central to optimising patient engagement.

Requirements

  • Relevant nursing qualification and registration such as RMN or RNLD
  • Excellent team-working skills
  • High level of self-motivation
  • Flexible approach as units operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • Work shift patterns including weekends, bank holidays and nights

Responsibilities

  • Provide a high standard of care to people with mental illness, personality disorder and learning disability
  • Develop therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement
  • Follow all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting rights of others and promoting ethical practice
  • Contribute to patient assessments, compile a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitor patient progress
  • Assist qualified staff with assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans
  • Undertake routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment
  • Accept personal and shared responsibility for maintenance of quality nursing care in a multi-disciplinary forensic team
