About this role

The Registered Nurse protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities while preventing illness and injury and alleviating suffering through diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy for individuals and families. The role centers on patient-centered care within a caring and healing environment at the Infusion Center.

Accountability includes full compliance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the Code of Ethics for Nurses. The nurse maintains standards of practice and professional development while supporting the Bill of Patient Rights in daily operations.

Day shifts of 24 to 32 hours are scheduled based on clinical needs with rotating weekends. Focus areas include infusion therapy delivery, vascular access management, and continuous monitoring of patients receiving treatments in an ambulatory setting.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Current NYS RN License or Valid NYS Limited Permit to practice as a GN
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
  • Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
  • Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
  • Infusion therapy and vascular access skills

Responsibilities

  • Protect, promote, and optimize health and abilities while preventing illness and injury
  • Alleviate suffering through diagnosis and treatment of human responses
  • Advocate in the care of individuals and families receiving infusion therapy
  • Maintain compliance with New York State Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards
  • Deliver infusion therapy and manage vascular access in the ambulatory setting
  • Monitor patients during and after treatments for adverse reactions
  • Promote a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care
