About this role

Join our team as a bank staff nurse at Brainkind Neurological Centre York, a purpose-built 40-bed state-of-the-art independent hospital. Provide high-quality neuropsychiatric, neurobehavioral assessment and rehabilitation for people following an acquired brain injury with additional mental health and physical conditions. Work flexible bank hours in our brand new flagship service.

Work in partnership with people living with an acquired brain injury to make a difference to their lives. Deliver high quality personalised care and support in a neurorehabilitation setting. Act as positive role models while addressing complex neuropsychiatric needs.

Operate within an interdisciplinary team where everyone’s contribution counts. Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to support patient rehabilitation. Foster a collaborative environment focused on patient-centred outcomes.

Participate in innovative and creative evidence-based service improvement initiatives. Access a robust induction process and opportunities to develop specialist skills through ongoing training. Newly registered practitioners benefit from our preceptorship programme for a smooth transition to professional practice.

Requirements

  • Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council (RMNH/RNLD/RGN)
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible in approach to work
  • Friendly and approachable manner with good people skills, showing care and empathy
  • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Previous acquired brain injury experience
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act & Mental Capacity Act
  • Recognised practice assessor/practice supervisor
  • Understanding of risk assessment and management and its application within practice
