Nurses deliver care in a nonjudgmental, nondiscriminatory, and culturally competent manner. Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within 3 years of employment (with exception of staff previously granted grandfather status)
- Registered Nurse license from the Indiana State Board of Nursing
- Graduate of RN Program
- Some areas may require a current and valid driver’s license
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and other health care professionals
- Current knowledge in nursing practice
- Use research findings in practice
Responsibilities
- Collect pertinent data and information relative to patient health or situation
- Analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses, problems or issues
- Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient
- Develop a plan of care that includes interventions to attain expected measurable outcomes
- Implement the individualized patient plan of care
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of patient goals and outcomes
- Deliver care in a nonjudgmental, nondiscriminatory, sensitive, and culturally competent manner
- Collaborate with the client, family members, significant others, and health care providers
