About this role

Applications are open for the Hospital Nurse Coordinator (HNC) position at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane on a casual basis. This role assists with the operational management of the hospital outside normal business hours. Key focuses include clinical leadership, patient access, appropriate staffing levels, and emergency response procedures.

Coordinate clinical leadership during off-hours to guide nursing teams effectively. Ensure patient access and maintain optimal staffing levels across shifts. Manage emergency response procedures to support safe patient care in an acute setting.

Requirements

  • Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Current and valid Advanced Life Support Certification
  • Minimum of 5 years’ recent nursing experience in a hospital environment
  • Previous management experience in an acute tertiary hospital, preferably as a Nurse Unit Manager, Hospital Nurse Coordinator or similar
  • Excellent leadership skills to guide and support the casual workforce
  • Ability to plan and coordinate patient care effectively and maintain patient advocacy
  • Able to work on a casual basis with flexible hours rostered over a variety of shifts

Responsibilities

  • Assist with operational management of the hospital outside normal business hours
  • Provide clinical leadership during off-hours shifts
