We are recruiting a senior staff nurse with Cardiology experience to expand skills, grow career, and rotate into all areas of the patient journey. Provide specialist private cardiac service to patients requiring diagnostic and interventional procedures like angiography, angioplasty, electrophysiology, and pacemakers. Be involved in the whole patient journey from pre-assessment to discharge, ensuring individual needs are met. Work with cardiology ward and recovery staff to admit and prepare patients for Cath Lab procedures.
Join a brand new department in Bournemouth Hospital, founded in 1957 with 41 beds, 3 theatres, endoscopy room, and 4 treatment rooms. The Cardiac Catheter Lab opened in 2015, performing around 1500 procedures, with EP service since 2017 and cardiac rehabilitation program. Experience varied services from outpatients to major surgical specialties.

Requirements
- RGN with significant post-registration experience
- Experience of working in a Cardiology environment
- Initiative to manage own clinical workload within a small team
- Knowledge of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
- Familiarity with Cath Lab patient preparation and documentation
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist private cardiac service to patients requiring diagnostic and interventional procedures involving angiography, angioplasty, electrophysiology, and pacemakers
- Manage the whole patient journey from pre-assessment to discharge ensuring patients' individual needs are met and planned accordingly
- Work with cardiology ward and recovery staff to ensure patients are admitted and prepared for Cath Lab procedures
- Ensure appropriate investigations are completed and accurately record documentation
- Rotate into all areas of the patient journey
- Manage own clinical workload within a small team
