Women & Infants Hospital, one of the nation’s premier hospitals, seeks Per Diem/Locum Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for its state-of-the-art, two-story, 80-bed private room NICU. Join a dedicated team providing specialized newborn care in a Level III setting. Serve a diverse patient population with full pediatric specialist support.

Handle conditions related to prematurity, respiratory distress, and birth defects through hands-on procedures. Perform intubation, blood drawing, UA/UV line placement, lumbar punctures, catheter and chest tube insertion, plus resuscitation. Manage an average of 8-12 patients per day across multiple 13-hour shifts.

Collaborate with a robust team including 16 neonatologists, 28 NPs, and 9 neonatal-perinatal fellows. Benefit from a dynamic environment in the region’s premier hospital for women and newborns. Access close to 9,000 births yearly and one of the nation’s largest single-family room NICUs.

Requirements

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensure
1+ years of neonatology or newborn experience preferred
Experience in Level III NICU newborn care
Proficiency in neonatal procedures such as intubation and line placement
Ability to manage prematurity, respiratory distress, and birth defects
Comfort with lumbar punctures, chest tube insertion, and resuscitations

Responsibilities

Provide newborn care in a Level III NICU for conditions related to prematurity, respiratory distress, and birth defects
Perform procedures including intubation, blood drawing, UA/UV line placement, lumbar punctures, catheter and chest tube insertion
Conduct resuscitations and manage average 8-12 patients per day
Work multiple 13-hour shifts in a state-of-the-art 80-bed private room NICU
Collaborate with neonatologists, NPs, neonatal-perinatal fellows, and pediatric specialists
Serve a diverse patient population in a high-volume obstetrical service
