Women & Infants Hospital, one of the nation’s premier hospitals, seeks Per Diem/Locum Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for its state-of-the-art, two-story, 80-bed private room NICU. Join a dedicated team providing specialized newborn care in a Level III setting. Serve a diverse patient population with full pediatric specialist support.

Handle conditions related to prematurity, respiratory distress, and birth defects through hands-on procedures. Perform intubation, blood drawing, UA/UV line placement, lumbar punctures, catheter and chest tube insertion, plus resuscitation. Manage an average of 8-12 patients per day across multiple 13-hour shifts.

Collaborate with a robust team including 16 neonatologists, 28 NPs, and 9 neonatal-perinatal fellows. Benefit from a dynamic environment in the region’s premier hospital for women and newborns. Access close to 9,000 births yearly and one of the nation’s largest single-family room NICUs.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensure
  • 1+ years of neonatology or newborn experience preferred
  • Experience in Level III NICU newborn care
  • Proficiency in neonatal procedures such as intubation and line placement
  • Ability to manage prematurity, respiratory distress, and birth defects
  • Comfort with lumbar punctures, chest tube insertion, and resuscitations

Responsibilities

  • Provide newborn care in a Level III NICU for conditions related to prematurity, respiratory distress, and birth defects
  • Perform procedures including intubation, blood drawing, UA/UV line placement, lumbar punctures, catheter and chest tube insertion
  • Conduct resuscitations and manage average 8-12 patients per day
  • Work multiple 13-hour shifts in a state-of-the-art 80-bed private room NICU
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, NPs, neonatal-perinatal fellows, and pediatric specialists
  • Serve a diverse patient population in a high-volume obstetrical service
