About this role
This position is part of the departmental leadership team that provides clinical supervision on a shift basis. It includes coordination and assignment of patient care, functioning as a unit patient flow coordinator for admissions, discharges, and transfers. Serves as a clinical and leadership resource and role model for staff.
Coordinates unit staffing for the next shift with the Director/Clinical Manager, Coordinator, and/or House Officer. Provides supervisory input into department staff evaluations and performance reviews. Completes established competencies within the designated introductory period.

Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- 1 year in an equivalent unit
- Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
- Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days)
- ACLS/TNCC, PALS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., Fetal Monitoring, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention required depending on department
- National Specialty Certification preferred
- 4 years in an equivalent unit preferred
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Nursing or advanced degree in a related field preferred
Responsibilities
