Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of high standards of personalised nursing care for service users. Leads the care team in providing the best possible quality care and support to service users and their carers/family. Holds line management responsibility for Healthcare Assistants.
Works collaboratively with the nursing team and wider multi-disciplinary team for an integrated, proactive service. In absence of Senior Nurse, takes charge of the shift, planning and allocating responsibilities. Supports volunteers and represents the service at meetings when required.
Maintains good communication with all departments internal and external to Brainkind. Uses own initiative in unsupervised settings, making judgements on problems like condition assessments. Promotes high standards of care delivery in a complex, stressful environment.
Requirements
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Completion of NMC Standards for Student Supervision and/or Assessment or willingness to complete training
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Knowledge of current legislation within the independent care sector
- Experience in neurological or palliative care desirable
- Demonstrable skills in leadership and supervision
- Competent IT skills
Responsibilities
